Evan enjoys astronomy, photography, computers, science, politics, travel, and reading, among things. as such. He has traveled extensively throughout the world – especially to view total solar eclipses– and has been to all 50 states of the United States. Evan has worked at a large variety of jobs, from paperboy for the Long Island Press and cashier at McDonalds to a photojournalist in Washington, D.C., a trial lawyer, a fighter pilot, and, now, owner of a software company. Evan served 6 years in the United States Air Force flying fighter jets, including the T-38 Talon and the F-4 Phantom II. He was stationed in Iceland, West Germany, and Spain, as well as numerous bases throughout the U.S. (most of which have since been closed). Before joining the Air Force, Evan practiced law in San Diego following his graduation from Duke Law School, where he was Executive Editor of the Duke Law Journal. Prior to that he attended the University of Rochester, where he double-majored in political science and history. He was the photo editor of the daily Campus Times daily newspaper, and he won a national collegiate photojournalism competition sponsored by St. Bonventure University. He participated in the Washington Semester Program, in which he worked in the Washington, D.C. office of Rep. Mike McCormack (D-WA). Evan lost tens of thousands of photos when his San Diego home
was destroyed by a huge wildfire in October 2003. Fortunately, about 1,000 of
his old slides were safely stored in New York, and he therefore was able to
get them scanned to digital images at a local company called DVD Your
Memories, Film
to DVD Orange County. |
